Uza. Nawaila Nashid completed her LLB Law with Business and Management from University of Sussex, England and is currently working as the Director of Regulatory Affairs at ADK group of Companies. Prior to her post at ADK group, she worked at SHC Lawyers LLP as a trainee associate and has been admitted to the Bar of Maldives. 

 

The Covid19 pandemic has been an eye opener for her to comprehend the poor framework in the Maldives to safeguard the rights of migrant workers. The failed system and vulnerability of migrant workers in The Maldives was truly exposed during this time, so she co-founded MMWM to actualise justice and push to strengthen this framework. As a Director at a large business corporation that employs hundreds of migrant workers, Nawaila truly believes she has a social responsibility to fight for their rights.

Migrant workers are an integral part of our community, Maldives will not be what it is today without the input of migrant workers from different corners of the world - we all have a responsibility to safeguard their rights and provide them a dignified life.
