Ms. Rasheeda Ali holds a Masters of Commerce (Human Resource Management) Degree from the University of Wollongong, Australia and a Bachelor of Business Administration (Business Administration) Degree from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon.
She has over 25 years’ experience in the Government of Maldives; mainly in national planning and development, project management, monitoring and evaluation; and human resources development at the national level. She held senior positions in the Ministry of National Planning & Development including posts of Deputy Minister and Permanent Secretary.
Ms. Ali was the first Secretary General of the then newly established Human Rights Commission of the Maldives and also the first Secretary General of the Maldivian Red Crescent and made significant contributions to the institutional development of these organisations and to human rights promotion; and provision of humanitarian services in the country.

Currently she is a self-employed consultant; and also does volunteer work with NGOs.
