MMWM is the first registered non profit organization in the Maldives advocating explicitly for the rights of migrant workers. The Mission for MMWM is just that: a mission. After endless years of systemic xenophobia and exploitation, we believe its our collective social responsibility to ensure equal rights and fair treatment of migrant workers. We are guided by our core values which are fundamental to all our endeavors.

  • To safeguard the wellbeing of migrant workers by ensuring equitable access to basic needs and fair living and working conditions.
  • To strive for justice and protect the rights of vulnerable migrant workers by facilitating secure and reliable legal recourse.
  • To lead better data collation and governance on migrant workers for robust research that inform evidence-based policies and regulations.
  • To provide operational assistance and coordinate with stakeholders to build national capacities and facilitate international, regional and bilateral cooperation on migration matters.
