Meeting the basic human rights for migrant workers such as equitable access to health care and other essential services is not revolutionary, it is necessary to build an inclusive, resilient and healthy community.

Dr Minah Faiz Rashad

President & Co Founder

Dr. Minah Faiz Rashad has an MSc in International Health and Tropical Medicine from the University of Oxford. The former medical officer from ADK Hospital was also a recipient of the prestigious Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Leadership Scholarship Award for his commitment to health equity. Dr. Minah Faiz Rashad was a recipient of the National Youth Icon Award 2019 in recognition for his humanitarian services for his country of Maldives by the International Youth Committee. He held the title of Executive Youth Member on the Cancer Society of Maldives Board as well as Maldives NCD Alliance.  Dr. Rashad was also appointed as the Health Promotion Co-ordinator in Maldivian Medical Association. 


He strives to continue to make an impact in the healthcare sector at a macro scale by following his passion for global health. He is passionate about helping vulnerable populations and has completed novel research on the inclusion of migrant workers in outbreak preparedness plans with a focus on the impact of COVID-19 on migrant workers in the Maldives. Through this process, he recognised the need for an organisation to work exclusively for the rights of migrant workers which lead him to co-found MMWM. 
 

Dr. Faiz currently works as an independent consultant to organisations including One Media, World Health Organisation (WHO) and International Organisation for Migration (IOM).
