MMWM is the first registered non profit organization in the Maldives advocating explicitly for the rights of migrant workers. The Mission for MMWM is just that: a mission. After endless years of systemic xenophobia and exploitation, we believe its our collective social responsibility to ensure equal rights and fair treatment of migrant workers. We are guided by our core values which are fundamental to all our endeavors.  

OUR VISION

To be the focal point in the Maldives to advocate for the rights, transform vulnerabilities and actualize justice for migrant workers by following a human rights-based approach. 

OUR MISSION

  1. To raise awareness and strengthen the legal framework, shape policies and design action programmes which ensure fair regulations consistent with international standards.
  2. To safeguard the wellbeing of migrant workers by ensuring equitable access to basic needs and fair living and working conditions.
  3. To strive for justice and protect the rights of vulnerable migrant workers by facilitating secure and reliable legal recourse.
  4. To lead better data collation and governance on migrant workers for robust research that inform evidence-based policies and regulations.
  5. To provide operational assistance and coordinate with stakeholders to build national capacities and facilitate international, regional and bilateral cooperation on migration matters.

OUR VALUES

Our ethos is built upon five core values that are fundamental to our organisation as guiding principles. We like to call
